ABOUT US

About Viking Club

The Hua Hin Vikings is a non-profit and informal sports and community social club that consists of both local and international members of all ages. We’re open to anyone that enjoys coming together for the health benefits and camaraderie of playing sports.

The spirit of the club is to have fun, stay fit and be sociable, but above all else, its to enjoy yourself! Whilst we aim to be competitive on the field, we place just as much emphasis on forming great, long lasting friendships off the field. We host tournaments for visiting teams and enjoy trips away to places like Bangkok and Koh Phangan. We play the following sports regularly…

We are not limited to just club sports and many of our members regularly play golf together, go fishing, visit the beach, have Sunday lunches, and arrange days out. The club helps all its members achieve a richer, more vibrant, and generally more fun experience of living and visiting Hua Hin.

Both informal and formal events and activities are regularly organised by Viking Club members. From family days out at the water park to an evening watching sports, it’s safe to say the Hua Hin Vikings enjoy vibrant and thriving social occasions together.

Hua Hin World Cup

The Vikings formed the Hua Hin World Cup way back in 2013 as an informal 7-aside football tournament to help sort out the friendly national rivalry & banter amongst its members.

Fast forward to today and its grown steadily to become the signature annual event of the club which is attended by teams from both Thailand and Overseas. It’s gone from strength to strength every year, attracting great sponsors, live tv game feeds, entertainment staff, family games, and a pitch side bar. The event now attracts over 200 players with the numbers rising each year.

Viking Club History

2010 | FOOTBALL

The Club was founded back in 2010 by Niclas Uddman and started off as a small, relaxed kick about between a group of Hua Hin based Scandinavians (and the odd Finn!). From the success of those first games, regular training sessions were organised and games were arranged with local teams.

In 2013 Thomas Andersson took over the reins of managing and organising the bi-weekly Hua Hin football meet ups as well as continuing to arrange the regular fixtures against local rivals the Bangkok Vikings as well as tournament tours to Bangkok and Koh Phangan. Thomas continues to grow the club, bringing many visiting teams to compete in friendly games hosted by the Vikings. Of course, with the stunning coastline, beaches, entertaining night life, quality accommodation options and top-class sports focused facilities, Hua Hin makes a great destination for any touring sports team.

2015 | FLOORBALL

2015 saw the addition of the floorball section of the club. It was a joint effort by Thomas & Anders to introduce this popular Scandinavian sport to a group of locals eager for a taste of ice hockey in the tropics! It has continued to grow ever since its introduction and with regular weekly games and visits to Floorball tournaments in Bangkok, the sport continues to grow in popularity with new members.

2020 | PADEL

Padel is the latest exciting addition to the club of regular rostered sports. It’s played at Viking Clubs’ new HQ, Padel of Thailand courts and can be found in the heart of Hua Hins’ latest up and coming vibrant entertainment area in Soi 94. The Vikings Padel group has now introduced both beginner and intermediate groupings so all levels of age and skill can come and enjoy.

Viking LEGENDS both Past & Present.
