Last year 20 teams and over 250 players, fans and families joined for the 11th Hua Hin World Cup. We are looking to go even bigger this year with more than 330 players competing.
The tournament is Managed and presented by Viking Club and will span over two days during December 2024. All games are played on the real grass FIFA standard 7 a side pitches at the famous Arena sports complex in Hua Hin. An after-party with dinner and a prize ceremony will be held on Sunday evening. We will confirm the venue, times and costs for additional guests at a later date.
Tournament History
The Hua Hin World Cup was established in 2013 and is overseen by Thomas Andersson and Anders Hagstedt from Viking Club Hua Hin. The tournament has continually grown in popularity over the years to become one of the best amateur footballing events in Thailand. 2023 sees the introduction of more teams and a new tournament format guaranteed to increase the action!
The whole weekend is designed to be a fun, family friendly event, with players and fans from all over Thailand (and even overseas) coming together to spectate and compete in a friendly and competitive spirited tournament. We are proud to be partnered with a great local charity, the Jungle Aid Foundation, and have continued to help raise awareness and funds for them over the years. The spirit of the event has always been one of fun, respect and fair play.
The organisers have worked hard to ensure everyone has an enjoyable time and continually look for ways to improve year on year. We genuinely look forward to welcoming both old and new teams alike, and whilst the organizers do their best to ensure a great event is laid on, please do remember that at the end of the day, it’s the spirit and respect of the players and their captains that ensures the football tournament is a success and that great fun is had by all that attend.
The Hua Hin World Cup is held at the famous Arena Hua Hin (formally True Arena). This impressive multi-sport facility hosts both recreational and completive sporting events as well as training facilities used by some of the worlds most prestigious sports teams. A 4 storey clubhouse, all day restaurant and rooftop pool can also be enjoyed by guests.
The True Arena boasts 2 FIFA regulation sized grass pitches which are intended for competitive 7 a side football. Viking club has secured both pitches again this year for the entire duration of the tournament. As well as the football itself, we’ll have a whole host of other activities, refreshments and live music in the Viking Club hospitality area.
